PPI Valet supports two methods of transferring accounts to suit the needs of your practice and clients.
Representative Directed Transfers
The Representative Directed Transfer process allows you to prepare the forms for your client instead of CI Direct Investing. This method may be a more suitable option if:
- You are meeting with the client in person to set up the account and would like to sign everything in that meeting
- Your client would have trouble printing or scanning forms in the event that the relinquishing institution won't accept e-signatures
You can find our transfer forms available here. Please note that some transfers have additional requirements and we can help ensure these are met. For the following transfers, please contact us prior to completing the transfer or follow the Client Directed Transfer process for the following:
- Corporate accounts
- Groups RRSPs
- Trust accounts
- Pensions
- Moving assets In-kind
Client Directed Transfers
In this method, the client uploads their account statement and CI Direct Investing pre-fills all the forms. This method may be a more suitable option if:
- The client is opening the account without your assistance and is comfortable coordinating it online
-
Your client won't have issues printing or scanning form.
You can find a guide here on how your client can submit these requests.
